After a long week shooting a perfume campaign on the French Riviera, we packed our bags and burrowed inland, checking ourselves into La Bastide de Marie for a brief respite before the final leg of our trip.
Between Ménerbes and Bonnieux, lies an 18th-century country farmhouse tucked quietly amongst 23 hectares of vineyard and restored in the true “mas Provençale” style.
Passing through a heavy set of dutiful iron gates, we ascend a boulevard lined with cypresses and hundred-year-old olive trees. From this moment time flowed differently.
A truly rustic affair, the medieval castle and sandstone houses were decorated by duck egg blue painted shutters, bordered by topiary and centuries-old fountains.
Upon arrival, we were lead to our suite through the central room filled with books, antiques and worldly treasures.

We spent the afternoon wandering the vineyard, pausing to share a bottle of white wine produced meters away and grazed on a seasonal peach salad & fresh burrata.
As usual, the weekend was a mix of business and pleasure. We used the dying embers of daylight to capture some campaign imagery for Elu’s debut scent; Provence. A sincere composition inspired by the sparkling French Riviera, a carefree yet sophisticated scent transposing the allure valued dearly by world-renowned artists and distinguished writers.
Powdery blooms of Lilac & violet accompany the nostalgic lavender heart, whilst a creamy sandalwood and vanilla base channel the warmth of an endless summer to linger on the skin.
“The beauty of fragrance is that it speaks to your heart…and hopefully someone else’s”

From our cocoon of bedsheets, the blinds of our floor-to-ceiling windows roll up with a click of a remote, revealing a panoramic view of the Guadalest valley, first laid eyes upon only through last [...]
